Dear Viewers,
First of all, we want to say a big 'THANK YOU' to all our esteemed viewers. Your feed back over the past months has been very heart warming and 'head swelling'. The depth of our appreciation cannot be expressed in words or writing . . . Thanks a trillion!
We have decided to discontinue the streaming of AIT, effective immediately. I want to start by saying this wasn’t a decision we made lightly, but after careful consideration, there was no alternative to the difficult decision of discontinuing streaming of the channel.
Primarily, African Streams mostly webcast television/radio stations that are classified as 'open networks' or 'Free to view channels'. We voluntarily offer our free services to help expand the reach and coverage of these
stations since they are already available in the public domains and can possibly be accessed by anyone.
Recently, AIT international broadcasting to Europe and the far East encrypted their channel which has been a 'free to view broadcast'. This development has restricted our privilege of webcasting this channel (free) under the "Fair use" provision of the copyright regulations, as defined in 17 USC 107. Furthermore, in order to respect the rights and privileges of the broadcaster, we 've henceforth stopped the streaming or relaying of their feeds.
But don't fret, because we have loads of alternatives for you. We 've obtained the rights to webcast a handful of other international television and radio stations while we 're working on a host of other local/indigenous stations. We couldn’t be more excited about what we have in stock for you. More details ’ll be released soon but for now, we encourage you to keep checking this space.
Yours faithfully,
CEO,
